One great thing about life is you get to appreciate nature and music. And if you’re lucky, you get to appreciate and see both at the same time. I also love your red canoe! It’s not color pollution, I think its nice and very different. Me as a musician, I tend to get lost in nature and try to think of good lyrics for all of my compositions. Sometimes, seeing those beautiful colors all around really helps and gives me inspiration to create more compositions.

While on Manitoulin Island, one resident told me: “When the leaves change in the fall, it is so beautiful that everyone becomes a poet.”

That description of how those colors affected people carried more weight than if she had tried to describe the beauty.

Before I ever saw the south of France, I wondered who had gotten it “right,” Cezanne with his muted, ashy colors or Van Gogh with his singing, zinging primaries. Then I went to the south of France. I saw both palettes. You can look at it either way, muted or full-strength. Incredible.
